Youth – Week of 12/11 – 12/17

Wednesday Nights

High School – 8th through 12th

This week we will be continuing our series called Praying. This series approaches what it means to live a life of prayer. Starting with the difference between the joy of a real relationship through the gospel versus empty religious duty, this series will encourage students to develop a meaningful prayer life by overcoming distractions, prioritizing God’s presence, and using God’s Word as fuel for effective prayer. This week we will be continuing studying the Verses John 15: 1 – 11, The big idea of this message is we are invited out of religious performance and into a meaningful relationship with God through Jesus Christ. With our application point being instead of praying out of religious duty, believers can pray with joy and expectation because we are talking with our Father who loves to be with us.

Middle School – 5th Through 7th

Our middle school group is going through a series titled “Holidays and Celebrations”. They are learning the true meaning of Christmas and why it is important.

Sunday School

High School – 8th through 12th

During Sunday school the youth are studying the Ten Commandments. During this Study we have been breaking down each commandment and studying them individually each week. The youth have also been working on the memorization of the Ten Commandments and how they tie together. This week we will be looking at the 9th Commandment, “You shall not Bear False witness Against your Neighbor”.  The big idea of this message will be God’s desire for us to love one another. This includes an intentional use of our mouths to bless others, not hurt them. Scripture for this lesson will include Exodus 20:16 and James 3:2-10.
